Toad-like creatures
would you believe me
if I say I have seen them
though I wouldn't call them
toad-like creatures
more strange nature
spirits who guard water
the only surreal thing is
their red eyes

Grotesque Goosebumps The toad-like creatures gather fat and stealth, huge milky eyes that weep highlights brine. They wear bits of glittery gut jewelry, rusted baby spoons around their necks; one has fingers in its mouth still twitch. They croak aloud gospel sounds -you feel the vibrato in your teeth before you hear it in your head. The toad-like creatures creep around except when each forms a ring around a tourist who strays too close of swampy-marshlands.
