He should enroll in a credible school offering reputable journalism degrees and try to graduate before rousing any more rabble. Programming to susceptible clickers who share biases merely harvests low-hanging fruit.

No attribution for content was offered, nor was any verification to support any claims. It was, symbolically, just video featuring the plugging of power strips into themselves and then expecting voltage. Nick Shirley still has a lot of maturity to unearth.

Nick could not be bothered to investigate, much less present findings from ten previous official hearings on the topic of fraud by the state. Again, no one was ever identified. Supportable proof of anything was absent 100% of the time.

The lone unidentified legislative committee member Nick ambushed described hearings that have taken place, political reasons why more rapid anti-fraud measures cannot be taken and stated an obvious point about bad actors involved with fraud in every state.

Predictable “Tim Walz is crooked” tropes were repeatedly flogged. There was even an unidentified man-on-the-street parroting exasperation over all the perceived fraud. Also cued was a flamboyant, emotional, dark-tinged, anonymous “victim” at the very end, joining the torch and pitchfork brigade.

Where and how did David get all his waved paper? What is the audit trail basis for the fraudulent money ticker? Where is a companion website so Mr. or Mrs. John Q can review salient corroborating material independently at their leisure?

Acting professionally allows for editorial creativity, but alleged crime must be fully vetted, explained, and comprehensively documented, including sources. Dots must be connected instead of merely implied using an arbitrary chart with unidentified circles.

Nick no doubt relishes a twisted reality that commands the short attention of federally appointed bug-eyed and dimwitted reality show contestants Kash Patel and Kristi Noem, both of whom enthusiastically piled on to Shirley’s evidence-free barrage of steaming dung.

Still, many impressionable viewers often conflate loudly shouted bullet points on camera with proof. If aping orange-hued, demented, oral diarrhea centered around retribution and woke-free racist islamophobia were not enough,

Nick uses David primarily to parrot conspiracy theories and wave papers around while playing what-if games and citing random state statutes. Neither ever offers any sources, attribution, or authenticity verification for even a single sheet of furiously fluttered paper. None. Zero.

Curious rational thinkers openly wonder who the “David” character is. What is David’s last name? What are his qualifications? Professional background? Is he just called David because some dark-skinned immigrant with no business in America might try to kill him, too?

It is far easier to make whacky, random cuts, insert clips into odd locations, throw unrelated photos onto the screen, spout wholly unverified conspiracy theories non-stop, and cosplay actual journalism without practicing it, much less truthfully.

If Nick Shirley embraced honesty, he would have ambushed physical sites during normal business hours on weekdays. But Nick is not honest. He even attempted to lie his way into some of his ensnared sites on camera using an imaginary son, “Joey.”

What serious journalist throws in live spots for OpusClip and Blackline Security while openly grifting donations to ensure his own “security” for being so “brave?” Who does he think he is? Charlie Kirk?

Would any serious journalist ever utter the words “like and subscribe” in any important story intended to convey gravitas? Could any YouTuber with scandal excavation on their minds draw a line between performance art and facts and then NOT completely ignore it?

The notion that Nick Shirley fancies himself an “independent journalist” is absurd, indicative of a chronic inability to get hired for any real job that does not include asking random customers whether they would like fries with that.

Did Shirley take the advice of Bari Weiss, fellow right-wing content creator and Peter-principled president of CBS News, who openly advocates getting official viewpoints from all sides on the record? What’s that? No?

Would any of the “evidence” Nick presented pass muster in any ethical courtroom, much less a newsroom? Can he produce receipts? Is there credible corroboration? Were any of his ambushed subjects identified by name or title? Did anyone agree to go on the record?

If forced at gunpoint to compliment him, kudos for gushy enthusiasm borne of youthful naivety would follow. The unfettered gullibility he inspires among clickers who should know better but steer completely clear of sense is also impressive. Everything else flunks elementary school journalism class.

The linear orientation on which society relied for the consumption of faithfully unbiased news (regulated until Reagan) has nearly reached a vestigial state of disconnected nostalgia.

Shirley, like other mostly clueless but wildly priapistic YouTube creators, craves clicks and demands attention.
