Ooo I’m writing a book and one of the landscapes: Pillars of stone rising, growing like trees, past generations have carved them like totems that distort with age as they grow taller and larger. Above they hold the ash dunes, black ash rains down around them.

But anything you do will be fab :)

That’s amazing! I notice you’re not scoring and slipping, do you not have any issue during firing with that?

In Norway I visited a number of very prominent ceramicists to interview for a research project. One was Elisa Helland-Hansen who has focused her 50 year career on functional ware. I couldn’t resist buying one of her cups and as I sip my coffee, you can feel those years of refinement.

Thank you! I started with a base of Cream Stone and then splashed in a very watered down recipe called Mossy Green and dripped in some of the manganese recipe I used on the outside :)

Did you know prolonged exposure to manganese causes Parkinson’s? But it also creates a metallic gold and the deepest blacks.
