Like most of the printed 5e campaigns take place after the Second Sundering which was a whole divine, dramatic mess but very fascinating~ so I think that's a thing to keep in mind, cleric or no cleric. (4/4)

If the party doesn't run into some weirdo going on about the "bliss granted by Loviatar" or exclaiming "by the Morning Lord's light! This cannot be happening!" you've taken all the spices and flavour out of the Forgotten Realms (3/4)

the gods and devils misbehaving and making toys or chess pieces out of people is as sewn into the Forgotten Realms as The Weave itself.

Mileage may vary because the extensive lore and interconnecting threads is not everyone's jam buuut (2/4)

my #dnd / #dnd5e hot take is that if your campaign setting takes place in Faerûn and never allude to or comment on whatever divine or hellish fuckery is happening or has happened then you are just ignoring 2/3rds of the setting (1/4)
