Tell WA legislators: Keep lead out of our kitchens - Toxic-Free Future
A bill (SB 5975) is moving through the Washington state Senate that will roll back Washington’s lead in cookware restrictions.
BREAKING: The WA State Senate just voted to weaken health protections for lead in cookware.
There is no safe level of lead, especially for children.
Now the House must stop this rollback! Tell your state rep: Keep lead out of our kitchens.

Comment: Tire dust killing salmon; state must bar chemical’s use | HeraldNet.com
A chemical called 6PPD produces a toxin that kills coho. A ban by 2035 can add to efforts to save fish.
More than 90% of baby Coho salmon can die after exposure to 6PPD-Q—a toxic chemical formed when tire dust washes into streams & rivers.
But we have a chance to change that! In Washington, HB 2421 would ban #6PPD and regrettable substitutes—protecting salmon, clean water, and our ecosystems. #waleg

Tell WA legislators: Keep lead out of our kitchens - Toxic-Free Future
A bill (SB 5975) is moving through the Washington state Senate that will roll back Washington’s lead in cookware restrictions.
A WA state bill would delay strong lead limits in cookware for years, slowing critical health protections. Lead is a toxic, brain-damaging chemical with no safe level of exposure, especially for kids.
WA residents, tell your state senator: Oppose this bill and keep lead out of our kitchens. #waleg

The Olympics are ditching PFAS waxes — and the ‘ridiculous’ speed they gave skiers
A key source of speed is gone, as concerns over toxic “forever chemicals” reshape Olympic skiing and the science behind winning on snow.
Olympic skiers are saying goodbye to toxic #PFAS in their ski wax!
If Olympic athletes can compete without PFAS, then it’s past time for retailers and policymakers to ditch these toxic “forever chemicals” in ski wax, cookware, and more—and transition to safer solutions.

Republican House bill guts laws protecting US consumers from toxic chemicals
Bill limits type of science used to determine health risks and gives industry major role in chemical review process
⚠️ Public health protections are under threat. A House bill would weaken #TSCA by limiting the science EPA can use, removing requirements that chemicals be proven safe, and giving industry more sway over chemical reviews.
Congress must reject this bill and protect our health from toxic chemicals.
