I think about Exalted as a setting at least twice a week. Then I remember 2e, 3e and Essence Ed and all joy goes away.

I did the graphics for @philgamer.bsky.social's punchy micro-RPG "Rogue Fists"

It's a game where you use a rock-paper-scissors mechanic to fight for your corporate sponsor in hyperviolent no-holds-barred combat

a man with a beard is standing next to another man with a beard ALT: a man with a beard is standing next to another man with a beard

With layout by @jodthecod.bsky.social, I came up with an absurdly violent game with little premise beyond beating up the other guy for your Corporate sponsor.

Inspired by Kengan Asura, ST☆R: Strike it Rich and Grappler Baki, I was aiming for a heady mix of absurdity and violence.

I asked the local #ttrpg community I hang out with for a restriction for a game design. They told me they wanted something with Rock-Paper-Scissors as a task resolution.

This is what I came up with:

Crowdfunding Spotlight: The Spy Game’s Spymaster’s Toolkit I've always been a sucker for the Super-Spy genre, having been a massive fan of the Spycraft game back on the early D20 era. That said, the only game that managed to get close to delivering that experience as of late is The Spy Game by Black Cats Gaming, which brings the modern Spy genre to 5e mechanics. I actually backed their first kickstarter project for the corebook, and so I was more than happy to see that they're getting their first full-sized supplement with the Spymaster's Toolkit now currently on…

Hi there! There's an Origin tier Themebook called "people" that covers heritage and species. An example given included Beaver Kin and Sylvan Elf.

I imagine you'd be able to cobble together your own custom non-human option through that. So, no, you wouldn't be required to play Adventurer tier.

Taglish code-switching is fun, lots of interesting ways that English is thrown in. How it's done changes depending on socio-economic class too!

Untamed Worlds An action-packed roleplaying game of animals uplifted to serve as humanity's agents among the stars. Welcome to space, the last great wilderness. While humanity…

Happy Untamed Worlds US release day.

So...buy my game. Unless playing animal commandos in space doesn't sound fun. Which is weird.

[Let’s Study] Untamed Worlds, Part 6: Review This is series is made possible by the generosity of Osprey Games, who provided me with a review copy of this book. No other compensation was given to me and all opinions in this article are mine. Untamed Worlds is clearly a product of love for 90's anthropomorphic cartoon adventures, but seasoned with more than a little bit of gritty realism that elevates it beyond just being a simple homage.

No other compensation was given to me and all opinions in this article are mine. Legend in the Mist is firmly set in the concept that the game is a conversation. As such, majority of the game loop itself is set along the assumption that if it makes story sense, then it can follow.

[Let’s Study] Coriolis: The Great Dark part 9: Review This is series is made possible by the generosity of Free League Publishing, who provided me with a review copy of this book. No other compensation was given to me and all opinions in this article are mine. Coriolis: the Great Dark is everything that Free League does best: Moody, Thematic, and Beautiful. Much like in their other games, the writing and the artwork holds to a singular, powerful vision and executes it with such grim determination that it can't help but be inspiring.

A little bit, but not enough that it's too hard to track. One could argue that tracking is the point given the focus on things like Supply and dwindling Heart points the further you go.

No other compensation was given to me and all opinions in this article are mine. At the heart of Coriolis: The Great Dark is the Delve. At this point if you've been following along you're already familiar that the The Lost Horizon is full of ancient ruins and hidden spaces from the Builders, and any of these could hold lost secrets and ancient artifacts.

Today's Let's Study: An overview of the Delving mechanics from Coriolis: the Great Dark
