At times it sounds more like King Crimson than Gong. Enjoying this very much.
A while back I created this little video with our own @ubertar.bsky.social & I thought I'd repost it. It's not exactly kaleido-material but possibly if you squint a little, it will fit into the theme of #KaleidoSaturday. π
I wonder if the software he was using for this was developed by George Lewis. The two of them taught at Bard at the same time, and George later (around '01) got a McArthur genius grant for his work on software that improvises with human playing.
As much as I want to stay out of politics here, I have to say it makes me laugh how people have so much to say about this event and know so little about it, e.g. who these two guys are, what their motivation was, and their intended targets. The CNN article is no help, but that's no excuse.

I love these photos but would very much appreciate a few words of context so I have some idea of what I'm looking at.
I guess the red-orange oval could be a blast of energy fired at it by some kind of demon or wizard. That might explain why it seems to be split apart and decapitated. Or maybe that's just the visual effect of the windstorm.
The second of two paintings from last night/this morning. The dragon came from the unconscious, it wasn't intended. I added the eye in its seahorse-like head, but otherwise it appeared on its own.
Did a couple new paintings between last night and this morning. Tried out some new textures, partly inspired by enyaslung.bsky.social
Here are two views of the first one, the second will come in a separate post.
Oh, I'm definitely jumping ship... it's just a matter of when I have a chunk of time and the motivation. So many other priorities, but it's inevitable. Microsoft is irredeemable at this point.
Cool, I'll check those out!
I could imagine with a more powerful system, you could have a joystick that could control viewing angle and it could record and save your movements as you play back.
I hear ya... I've been thinking about moving to linux/ubuntu but it will mean all new audio editing software, and I've been using the same stuff for decades!
You can put things on youtube and post a link, to show longer works. I find this kind of thing works well as a meditation aid.
Nice! I don't think I've seen one at a tilted angle like that before... makes it less confrontational than the usual head-on, flat. Might be interesting in a longer one to play around with the viewing angle, shift it over time, if that's feasible. I know nothing about the software involved.
Was it? The Roman empire?? And I guess Cicero didn't ascribe to, "no justice, no peace". Damn, and I said I wasn't going to get involved in politics here. At what cost, peace?
This would have been a great setup for a haunted house series, if he had gone in a different direction.
I prefer tyofsm :D
may you be touched by his noodly appendage
reposting this one from last week, since I like this one a lot and it got no love the first time around...
And another...
To try to get the colors more accurate, I tweaked the hue control. Major tweaks can totally transform the feel of it...
All of my recent paintings have no set orientation. So this could be vertical, or reversed, or both. I like the idea of rotating them every now and then. I just ordered some wooden discs to paint on. Here's another view:
It's so hard to photograph paintings well. The colors don't come out right, and detail gets lost. I had to tweak this in photoshop to get the colors closer to actual. There's more going on in the yellow in the corners than you can see. Any tips?
What are you listening to?
One of the few I have on vinyl.
I shouldn't have been cranking that tinnitus knob all those years.
"This goes to 14". Nigel Tufnel, eat your heart out!
Makes sense to me.
Yay!
Mazzy Star: "I'll just play the chords to Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door" and put new words on top. No one will notice.
