that was my first experience of mumsnet

i can only ask - can i get a job at this company? if the biggest problem they have is this, it must be a chill place

on the other hand, if a line manager turns something which in years past would have been simply being polite into a culture war, maybe not?

Quite how a pampered mummy's boy has entranced so many people is beyond me

Seems to be a lot of people prefer enabling their grievances than actually having a govt that works

It's not that they can't. They won't. They cannot risk angering the Toddler in Chief

You'd think if they had wit to match their income, they would contact the shop and buy a pair that actually fit

Then they could continue their brown nosing but in some comfort

Service is terrible, whatever the courier

I have had "attempted delivery" when I was at home. Signed for dumped on doorsteps.

But you have to consider the working conditions of the drivers. If they miss a delivery they get fucked over, they have no time to think and paid pennies

It almost sounds like prison is a punishment. Who knew?

I'd suggest given his profile and crimes, he should consider himself lucky to be alive

I left labour soon after Starmer was elected leader

Apparently there were signs I missed, as I believed him and voted him leader

In that short period of time since, labour is utterly unrecognisable

I don't think the party can be salvaged

Not really an expert, but I fully expect none of these overpriced sheds will survive first contact with reality

The current media and political class of the UK are nothing more than over promoted 6th form committee members

They have no ideas beyond what is right now,and what little they have appear to be driven by a complete misunderstanding of what is required or by petty grievances

Amateurs and grifters

spreads far and wide

but we only vote for the fuckers, we don't send them huge donations, lobby or offer post parliamentary exec jobs

and often that spending will be locally on services

then those companies spend the money on 3rd parties, restocking, replenishing consumables. and those companies...

£100k extra to a banker is offshored or a new sports car

£100k to 50 people who's kids need shoes, could do with a new bathroom...

this is why quantitative easing and the UK response to COVID baffled me

you give money to the rich and institutions, they salt it away or pay themselves huge bonuses

i am in no way handing it to Trump but sending the money to the population is better

a few people will save it, but most will spend

unfortunately you have to look at the form guide

post Civil War? rebels mainly allowed to go back to what they were doing

reparations? quietly forgotten

post WW2? most Nazis allowed to return to what they were doing; operation paperclip

post Jan6?..

those who should be leading are toothless

When I read people talking about the midterms and next presidential election and such with defined hope

I just think, don't they realise? This guy and his pals already did one insurrection unpunished

Do they really think he's just going to walk away?

companies like Uber have used surge pricing for a while

just wait til supermarkets start doing this. hot days? water prices go up. raining? umbrella prices go up

technology is all there to do it - and do it with seconds of notice

and to think we were promised flying cars and laser swords

"replies disabled"

FFS. when you are ignoring experts because of vibes, you are responsible

if you beat your kid you'd be castigated, the tabloids would hang you out to dry

same should be with vaccines and health. not vaccinating your child is abuse and you should not be allowed have kids

In opposition, you looked at the vindictive Tory Home Sec like Patel or Braverman or Cleverly and think "how awful they are"

I knew Labour had the capacity for bastardry, but never thought they outdo the Tories

They are a sham of a party

Arrest for the possession of an offensive porridge??

If this is the worst the met have to deal with, there should be serious thought given to disbanding or at the very least cutting significantly budgets

Unknown Unknown received too many pelters

It sounds dumb, but it's actually a really useful term

It's association with Rumsfeld tarnished it unfairly

nothing puts off voters like refusing to incinerate a school load of small children

seems those who trumpet the loudest for war are the same who are happy to be safe at home and allow others to do the dying. like always

A bag of dicks would be more useful

Windows and it's associated applications were never great, but they worked ok and you got used to them

They are now all much worse

And we just have to tolerate it because what employers are pivoting to Linux?
