We’re finally catching up on The Pitt and while 90% of it is truly stellar, we just watched 4-5pm and I’m sorry, they did NOT set up the Dr Langdon situation AT ALL…Santos’ first day suspicions were flimsy and to ultimately justify her annoyed me to no end…

My father is a retired deputy chief in the Lowell, MA Fire Department and I’ve been thinking of all the times he put his life on the line as I watch LA County firefighters try to beat back the apocalypse…it’s inspiring, yet I can only feel heartbroken for my city, Los Angeles. Stay safe.

Baldoni is the worst kind of sexist - one that pretends he isn’t. The New York Times article revealing his hiring of PR people to tank Lively’s reputation is absolutely vile. I’m so tired of the machine defending men behaving badly. So tired.

And then there’s the state of this country where people have been duped by a racist, sexist criminal who doesn’t care about anyone except billionaires. Is it really that insane for me to think the world has simply gone crazy and that being hardworking and empathetic means absolutely nothing?? 3/3

If I look more than a day or two ahead, I risk a panic attack…
I’ve worked my ass of to be an award nominated television editor and yet I was unemployed for half of 2024…I put my savings into a down payment on a house and now can barely make the mortgage payment. 2/3

2024 has decided it’s not done with me as I just cancelled my flight back east for Christmas. I’m gutted and trying to focus on being able to work over the holiday break and helping my husband recover from (non life threatening) surgery, but I’m simply exhausted…1/3

We finally watched The Brutalist and…wow. The awards buzz for Adrien Brody is 100% deserved & I think the 1st half is nearly perfect. The 2nd half felt less focused and as an editor, I was kind of itching to cut down some of it 😂
Regardless, it’s an incredible and thought-provoking watch! #filmsky

Day 3/20

My first R rated movie (that I remember seeing) was The Last of The Mohicans. My parents were on the stricter side but because my mom loved the book and I had read it by the time I was 12, I was allowed to see the movie (turns out it was VERY different from the book…😬).

Cate Blanchett will always be my queen.
Kate Winslet and Viola Davis hold a close second place in my heart…
But Julianne Moore has punched me in the heart more than once and boy did she do so again in #TheRoomNextDoor! Tilda Swinton is also phenomenal in the movie. Highly recommend!

I am rewatching Wonder Woman 84 to stave off the anxiety…I know it’s objectively bad but it’s message of hope is what I need right now.
