@Hamza_Alkateab said that "they [regime & affiliated actors] want to plant #fear in the whole community". So even if a situation is complex, we should not follow simple explanations as it accelerates the spread of disinformation.

Dace Melbārde (Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) spoke about how to disrupt #disinformation. We'd need a multi-line strategy with
(1) sustainable and reliable #media
(2) a #resilient population &
(3) targeted communication that includes sanctions to regulate media

Have you ever heard of the Pradva network? An analysis by the European Digital Media Observatory shows that one of its main objectives is to spread pro- #Russian #disinformation in several #EU countries - with a possible connection to the European elections 2024. 🔎🗳️

Fascinating, but susceptible to use for #FIMI: The new version of the OpenAI tool can #imitate human #voices amazingly realistically - with just a 15-second voice sample! 🎤⌛

Increasing technical possibilities accompanied by decreasing individual effort makes the main use of #FIMI via #images and #videos worrying. 🎦 Think of the #AI-based imitation of voices; just last week, OpenAI launched a new AI tool for the imitation of #human #voice. 🎤

#FIMI, #Foreign #Information #Manipulation and #Interference is highly topical and multifaceted. To understand the underlying #tactics, #techniques & #procedures, an #interdisciplinary research team is needed. 👥
