Joel Embiid reported soreness in his right shin. Following consultation with doctors, Embiid has received daily treatment, while progressing through on-court work and strength and conditioning.

He’s OUT tomorrow, reevaluated ahead of the back-to-back this weekend, per Sixers.

I think people feel some type of way about the McCain trade. Just a hunch, though.

For LAL, Jaxson Hayes and Adou Thiero are out.

I feel similarly. IF this McCain trade is some sort of building stone for another move, then I can re-evaluate.

But if it's just this, it'd be pretty hard to deny it was just to duck the tax. To do that to this team right now... yikes.

The Sixers were $1.3m over the luxury tax line after Paul George's suspension.

Jared McCain's base salary this season was $4.2m. Gets the Sixers under the line with room for standard deals for two-way guys.

If no other additions, trading McCain seems just like a salary dump to dodge the tax.

With a VJ Edgecombe-led win over the Warriors last night, the Sixers have won 5 games in a row for the first time this season.

The last time the Sixers won +5 games in a row? Back in April 2024 when they won 9 straight to close the 2023-24 regular season.

I assumed the team record only reflected the games that player played in...

Sixers went 10-7 in January. They were 10-4 (.714) with Joel Embiid in the month.

Celtics went 10-6 in January. They were 9-5 (.643) with Jaylen Brown in the month.

Joel Embiid had to be in discussion for this month in Eastern Conference... but alas 🤷‍♀️
