I spent yesterday afternoon playing trains with my Dad on his layout. It’s the first time we’ve played trains together for nearly 50 years. Very special time.

Great stuff, I was a secondman at Ipswich from 1985 to 1988, I was one of the ones doing the loco changeovers until the 86s went through to Norwich in 1987. That's a big reason for building the layout, to recreate those days.

I'd be very interested in more details of the camera system as it's something I want to do myself

This is one fifth of the layout, 12ft. The scenic section stretches all the way to the London Road Bridge at the other end of the freight yard.

Scenic point work all hand built.
Scenic section 60’x4’ 18m x1.2m.
8ft 2.4m helix at each end to reach off-scene storage yards below the scenic layout.
Exhibition layout viewable from both sides.
