I am among the MANY folks who got laid off today. Don't have anything good or thoughtful to say on it atm. gutted, sad, feel completely fucked. Fuck vox media management forever. they did this shit on may day. vox media union forever.

Hello everyone! Unfortunately I have some bad news today. After lots and lots of consideration (and some sleepless nights - shoutouts to my brain) and after talking to my employer/publisher Deck13, we've made the decision to cut down the content for Lunistice 1.5 significantly. What does this mean? Basically, the planned extra campaign "Accel Coda" will not be part of this update. There's many reasons for me to throw in the towel, so to speak, but the main culprit is that I've just been struggling to find ways to make this additional content *work* in the context of the rest of the game. It also really doesn't help that, even though I'm generally in a much better mental state than last year, I'm still utterly and completely burned out from working on Lunistice. That being said, 1.5 will still be a quite significant update and there's still a bunch of work to be done. Namely the update will include: - Improved and updated level and character designs - Additional playable characters (yes, the two raffle winners will still be part of the update, no worries!) - A new hub area for Hana and the bonus characters - Randomizer Mode - Mission Mode - ... and basically all the other improvements and bugfixes I made ... as an apology, Accel will still be playable as a bonus character - including two bonus stages. I definitely didn't make this decision lightly and I'd like to apologize to everyone who was looking forward to playing a full campaign mode with Accel. I feel his story might be a better fit for a potential new game (not anytime in the near future, though!) which'll give me much more freedom and opportunities to truly work on some interesting and new stuff! On the bright side this'll mean that 1.5 will probably not take *that* much longer to develop, since most of the new stuff is already done - though it will need a lot of testing and bugfixes still.
