Rebecca Solnit's essay made me howl rage at inequality AND feel inspired. It lays out the importance of the ecology of resistance. Every act matters. Keep going'The work continues'.https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/feb/22/andrew-mountbatten-windsor-epstein-files-trump?CMP=share_btn_url
Thanks for the follow and sharing this. I really like this song / trailor. Sorry to have been slow to watch. I am a bit occasional and intermittent on social media. π
I mean, from a blinkist pov you are all caught up. But if you fancy the unabridged, full fat experience, you will find it over on my blog. Link in my bio. Or go here: www.emmaadamswriter.co.uk/new-blog/202... That's the news x
Oh and trees and birds and many telegraph poles, hills and pylons. And I have written words to accompany the drawing every day.
Poor Jane has already had her face melted by me. The fur fam has already featured. As has a terrifying digital sketch of Claudia done while watching the Traitors (my delicious, guilty pleasure).
In terms of drawing, so far I have done: many terrible botch sketches. Some experiments. Some live drawing. I have even done one or two pictures that I actually like.
Thread heads, let's go ππ»
My sketch a day 2026 challenge (is it a challenge anymore? Is it more a practice that I'm trying to build into a non-negotiable habit?) is well on its way. So far this month has involved a trip to the Lakes and Glasgow (a writing squad adventure, that was fun) and a lot of musical writing.
Dear friends, just a quick ping in to say - my first week or so of the 2026 sketch a day challenge is go. Today's sketch was of a handsome horse. www.emmaadamswriter.co.uk/new-blog/202... but there is a sketch for every day of 2026 so far on my blog. If you fancy such things. That's the news x
It simply isnβt true that international issues and local issues are separate.
For the gallant few, who follow a thread to its very end, here is a picture of the horses, sheep and pylons. Happy New Year
I put this flurry of drawing down to 1st day over enthusiasm. Rest assured there will be plenty of days in the coming weeks and months when a scribble on a post-it will be as good as it gets. But let's celebrate while we may.
For the thread inclined : just a note to say that the blog is a bumper edition today. Along with mushrooms, there is also a sketch of horses sheep and pylons.
Yesterday I completed my sketch a day challenge for 2025πππ»π₯ Today I started all over again. To celebrate I drew some mushrooms growing on a tree. As ever there is a blog post that goes along with this drawing. If you fancy it click this link: www.emmaadamswriter.co.uk/new-blog/202...
Sending love back at you x
A reminder - the BBC charter renewal process has begun!
The government have opened up a consultation on it and you can all have your say.
I've already responded.
Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Christmas continues into the weird few days before new year. Some years I have to work these. Some years I don't. Whatever, they are some of my fave days of the year. They have a bumbling/low stakes/ expansive quality that brings new ideas and excitements.
Belated loves right back at you Mr K (I pootled off, I pootled back) xxx
When I remember to pootle here, it's these kinds of threads, I didn't know I needed, that I hope to bump into. One of the fault lines that sit between FascistHellscape4eva or a world we want to live in, is defending thinking for its own sake/pleasure/surprise. Also. It didn't feel basic 2 me x
Also, for the thread inclined amongst you, a related thing - I am up to day 345 of my year long 365 sketch a day challenge. So very close now. The sketch of Josh was yesterday's edition. As ever, you can follow all the excitement over on my blog: β Emma Adams: Writer share.google/64rGYq8CVXZM...
Ive LCD Sound System's 'New York I Love you' with alternate lyrics 'bluesky I love you, but I'm forgetful as hell' inside my head as I ping in 2say - I'm writing musical songs in a hotel room in Bradford this weekend with writing partner Josh. Extreme fun. I sketched this to celebrate. Good morning.
1. Great, let's do this
2. Here's some useful info (from my agent). You have until March 23, 2026 and it now includes illustrators
3. Here is the Works Lookup link: secure.anthropiccopyrightsettlement.com/lookup/
Here is a picture of my dog smiling and a link to the blog, should you want it. Good evening www.emmaadamswriter.co.uk/new-blog/202... ps the alt text = a sketch of a spaniel looking up, against a backdrop of a huge angular structure and a stormy skyline.
Sadly, I don't think solving the problem that needs solving is the problem they want to solve.
The fact that even a rich, famous actor canβt afford cancer treatment in the US is unimaginably fucked up.
We HAVE to save our NHS.
Hi #writers #playwrights all of the bluesky fam - just a quick reminder that I am a playwright. I also sketch stuff. I post a sketch with words everyday. Links in my bio. Meanwhile, here is a sketch I did of a village at dusk in #bradford called #micklethwaite. Good afternoon. Free Palestine π΅πΈ
The to do list at the bottom of this article is a neat reminder of important things to think about (not just for free lancers)
