Sadly, I don't think solving the problem that needs solving is the problem they want to solve.

The fact that even a rich, famous actor can’t afford cancer treatment in the US is unimaginably fucked up.

We HAVE to save our NHS.

Hi #writers #playwrights all of the bluesky fam - just a quick reminder that I am a playwright. I also sketch stuff. I post a sketch with words everyday. Links in my bio. Meanwhile, here is a sketch I did of a village at dusk in #bradford called #micklethwaite. Good afternoon. Free Palestine πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ

The to do list at the bottom of this article is a neat reminder of important things to think about (not just for free lancers)

Agree. Grim. What on earth goes through these people's minds! 'Hey! Its it's ok, we'll off set this with a bit of conifer planting somewhere soon!' Absolute fools. To be this ignorant after all of this time despite all of the science saying 'we need rainforest' is not acceptable. Labour fail again

Are none of them attracted to the completely available option of being, say, the one guy who spent 90 billion on tackling climate change, and becoming, forever after, the most beloved man on planet earth, all while still retaining more money than he could spend in a thousand lifetimes?

BBC must change or be β€˜a Titanic’, says manager of the Sidemen YouTubers Jordan Schwarzenberger says BBC is becoming irrelevant to gen Z and risks crashing unless it attracts younger viewers

Just finding out BBC's Patricia Hidalgo alarmed that UK kids arent engaging with UK tv cos they are focused on US online content. Eons ago when the BBC cut homegrown content the argument was clear. Divest from kids lives & they'll go elsewhere. Sad but inevitable. www.theguardian.com/media/2025/n...

I have of course immediately gone 'oh I haven't listened to that LP forever! ' so that's now playing. Thank you..Any afternoon with Pavement is a great afternoon (and I am glad you found this LP as it's fab).

Me too. I have strong artwork responses. But it never crossed my mind that artwork could actually stop me liking an lp. But maybe it can. Or maybe not liking the music can spoil artwork by association. This is going to become a light obsession that pootles along with me, never to be answered : )

It turns out that #WolfAlice are great. I thought I didn't like them. I must have been confusing them with a band I don't know the name of, who I actually don't like. That awful, unknown band is, of course, still out there. I discovered my mistake by accident while dusting.

A big autumn sky. One big white cloud up high, with low clouds waiting to spring into action as the sun goes down. And the sun, stage right, already fed up of the day. It’s leaving and it’s taking its ball of fire with it. A ploughed field sits at the bottom. hard cold earth.

Now listening: Hounds of Love. Which shouldn’t be a big deal. It’s a favourite album. But so precious is it that I’d sealed it away; perhaps only one full listen in the last 15 years.

So I downloaded it. And for the first time ever I am listening to The Big Sky whilst walking under a big sky.

I get frustrated cos Guardian seems to cover it's own back by allowing opinion pieces to do the real, radical/necessary / thought provoking heavy lifting. The paper should be braver. Nonetheless they did publish this piece & I think it's great & it got you and me chatting. So thats a positive x 2/2

Yep. Thou I have to say I also think Corbyn's refusal to dirty his hands with politics (I think he values the moral high ground of being a campaigner over the down in the dirt position of making political change) played into those cynical folks hands. But I take your point. 1/2

This piece is a superb essay about the ways in which racism is being normalised by the far right in the UK. Thoughtful words. And what it has to say about Theresa May and David Cameron jolted me and made me realise just how normalised racist rhetoric has become. For your consideration πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Its annoying that I am not great about doing social media while also writing/collaborating/making work. But my brain is very keen to only focus on one or two things at once. So I have to accept my limitations.

The Otherhood play has been out into the world twice now and we are SOLD OUT and the shows have been going great. I mean, you have to take my word for it because who reviews theatre any more? But I would not lie to you. Ever.
