This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

If a temporary resident of the White House can totally demolish the East Wing to build a gaudy ballroom, without any authority, approval, or regulation, he can tear down the rest of the White House to build a Walmart. That this destruction is allowed underscores how off the rails our country is now.

Even my few Facebook friends that I know are Republican, but usually keep politics out of FB, are spring disturbing posts. Spewing exactly what Trump says. I just can not believe America is growing further away from being the "United states". All because of Trump. And that is why we protest.

My local Facebook pages are filled with vile hate messages regarding the No Kings protest. They truly are unhinged spewing exactly what Trump says. Saying Protesters were paid. Calling them morons and retards. Memes pointing to mental illness. Get a job. He's still your president. It's disturbing.

It’s also, to my mind, the most urgent calling of our lives. The stakes are nothing less than whether the most militarily powerful nation in the history of the planet becomes a rogue dictatorship.
