Thanks to @publiclaw.bsky.social for publishing my article on decision making under the Prevent and Channel duties. So long in the writing that the Prevent Duty guidance and definition of extremism were updated and a review of Prevent was published, which didn't slow things down further at all.

I attended the Committee in May 2023 during my PhD, but this session will be broadcast live (which is midly terrifying..). The UN system needs buy-in from domestic stakeholders, so it's really exciting to see our work pay off with Parliament more regularly (& publicly) engaging with the UPR.

The ICC holds perpetrators of the world’s gravest crimes to account and gives victims a voice.
It must be free to act without pressure.
We will always stand for global justice and the respect of international law.

The workshop will take place in Birmingham on 12th June with Prof Conor Gearty as the keynote speaker.
That sounds really interesting. Might be worth looking at Philip Alston's recent OA text: humanrightstextbook.org/digital-book.
Beyond that, on the UPR specifically, if you e-mail me I can send you a long list of OA articles. My OA book on the UPR will also be out next year.
There's lots of really interesting work on the HRC's politicisation and how it has addressed (or rather not) the selectivity of its predecessor. You may have already read, but in case you haven't:

Snap. There is also an assumption that lectures are not inclusive but (at least from what I can tell from my students) this has not been my experience at all. We shouldn't downplay the value of instruction as a pedagogical tool.
