EIGHT OF CUPS #tarot -watercolor and ink on paper 44th tarot from the 78 card square-o tarot deck i made 5 years ago for my 20202020 ( @floatingworld.bsky.social ) daily drawing book where all cards first appeared in https://floatingworldcomics.com/shop/art-books/20202020-by-farel-dalrymple Based off the original Pamela Smith card Depicts eight goblets in the foreground before a background of craggy turbulent waters. A lone figure is seen in the middle ground distance with their back to the viewer. This card indicates changes in affections and the breaking of irrelevant links with the past – a turning away from existing relationships and objects of affection with the intent of progressing to that which is new and deeper in meaning. A change or gaining of perspective, this can indicate disillusion with the present, inaugurating the growth of greater future contentment and depth. This card usually carries the meaning of disillusionment and abandonment of things which have not been emotionally fulfilling.

Thanks! I find a lose under drawing helps to establish the form while still giving wiggle room for adjustments on the fly. I start with the darkest shadows to refine the shapes and then the mid tones and highlights to start establishing details
