My goal this year is to take 200k photos.

So far I've taken 44k. Might need to slow my roll a bit.

I think Trump is a ghoul, but honestly that doesn't even crack top 10 problems of Trump for me. It's 34 counts of falsified business records. If you dug deep into every billionaire I'd wager they'd all be up for well over 100 counts of that.

And that's exactly what politics is. It isn't "Convince everyone to vote for our candidate" it's "Convince the "other team" to not vote for theirs".

They know it's much more effective and easier to do.

I was involved in a political campaign ages ago. The main weird strategy take away was to convince the other parties support *NOT* to vote.

Convince supporters to vote and non supporters to not vote. Not convince you to vote for them. 🤪

The Hudsucker Proxy is one most people haven't seen.

Porcco Rosso is my favorite Ghibli film and also another one most people haven't even heard of.

The first two Paddington movies are great and if you like those, you'll also love the new Wonka film.

More people need to watch The Hudsucker Proxy.

Saying "oh some staffer posted that video" to try and dodge responsibility is so much worse. They get that right? They understand that allowing ANY random un-named low-level staffer to just be able to pretend to be the president at any time is very stupid. Please tell me they get at least that.

When me and my friends were 13 we were going to websites like rotten dot com where you could watch all kinds of fucked up shit rather than just text descriptions. Something about that age seems to just call people to the extremes of society.

I think we need to start calling things like they are. Trump doesn't know what Voter rolls are. He doesn't care what they are. There are people using Trump as a lighting rod. People like Stephen Miller. These are the people that need to be called out.

While simultaneously working on a project and project managing a different project I am starkly reminded of how much I hate cutting broll to have archival ready to go for any random situation and how amazingly useful it is when you need that random shit to cover a boring talking head piece.

He’s not concerned because he knows he’s on the way out and he has enough money that he can’t spend it all even if he tried.

I think we should also bring back calling stuff "Weird" when it is very much not normal.

Genuinely curious what's going to happen first - Epstein files get released, Trump's heart gives out or The Midterm Elections.

It's weird to think that I've been using last.fm for over 20 years now.

Open Scrobbler Scrobble songs and albums you heard on the radio, vinyl or at some place where you need to manually scrobble.

I just found out about OpenScrobbler.com so now I can go back to listening to way too much GodSpeed You! Black Emperor and still track my songs listened to.

This makes my stupid nerdy brain very happy.

On a side note, why don't data centers invest into renewable energy on site? Obviously it doesn't give them all their energy, but it would probably off-set costs over time right?

Is it just not enough cost offset yet? Is it a land cost problem? Genuinely curious.

The main thought is to send it links to AI videos and ask it to make summaries, then once it gives us a summary tell it that it's wrong.

I have no idea if this actually does anything to poison the AI's machine learning or not. It might completely be a terrible idea. If that's the case please lmk.

AI is currently not profitable. It's bleeding money, and yet they continue to build infrastructure for it.

I wonder.. if enough of us use it maliciously, can we accelerate their costs and kill it before it gains a foothold and somehow becomes profitable?

How much money do you think the US taxpayers have spent on medical care for him just for his first year back in office?

It's wild how all the extreme music I listened to in high school suddenly feels relevant again.

(I am 39 years old and have been on the "debt treadmill" for probably 15 years now).

For the first time in my entire 30s, I don't have any credit card debt.

I mean I obviously got paid next to nothing and met WAY more creeps, but the cool people I'm still largely friends with.

I think the ability to get over myself and bug people for posed pictures really helped my career with event photography though. That's a hard case for an introvert to crack.

Wild. I guess it makes sense, the REAL early days of ONL one of the owners took all the pictures. I worked for them I think 2011-2013.

It was a nice job for that point in my life. I met a lot of cool people and got to talk to girls way out of my league which definitely made me less weird.

Wait what. I used to take pictures for Omaha Night life. AFAIK they weren’t saving anything after the gallery expired a few weeks or months after the photographers posted it.

Sometimes I try to sell things on facebook marketplace and I end up wanting to just throw it away instead of dealing with the dozens of people who either can't or won't read the post.

I feel like you have to dig through at least 20 dumb messages before you get to sell the thing.
