Yes, I know about the senior discounts, but those are not part of a Federal program. I have been a vendor that took SNAP as payment and it is very well spelled out: any violations and you are liable. If the shopper identifies as a SNAP recipient, voila. I am am not saying that it's right.

Believe me, there is no dignity in being hungry...

You would think so, but Federal programs are heavily regulated, with stringent rules. If rules are violated, you can be fined and/or lose the ability to participate in the program. If participating stores offer special pricing for a certain group of people, they must offer it to all people.

My guess is something is smeared on the screen that the kitten finds irresistible!

It's simple: he wants to be able to blame the Democrats for the suffering.

I am confused by this: if they are old enough to retire, then they should be on Medicare. Medicare is not affected by the ACA. As far as I know, you become eligible for Medicare at the age of 65. I do know some people are able to retire younger, but most of us don't have that luxury!

Um, aren't we all, as U.S. citizens, somewhat dependent on our government in some form or another? I would urge him to attend the next rally and talk to the real people who care enough to show up: everyday, hardworking citizens who pay taxes.

I worked with someone who totally believed immigrants were eating people's pets, and I said "if pet owners are letting their pets run free in the city, then they are fair game!" I am just amazed at what people will believe because that's what Fox news tells them!

And I say, if it is such an easy job EVERYONE would be doing it! Teachers put in more hours than they are paid for, not to mention spending their time off working on advanced degrees and continuing ed. I am a retired E.R. nurse and I have lots of friends who are/were teachers. My hat's off to you!

Or turn it into a homeless shelter? That way nothing gets wasted.

I know people who voted for trump all the while saying they don't like him at all, but they had to vote for him because they have voted republican all their lives. People's loyalty is hard to shake and I am sorry for all the families having to deal with this. His mother is not looking for the truth.

We need lots more elected officials speaking out on this immediately! We cannot wait for the courts to discuss "the legality" of it after troops are deployed!

The only reason she was not harassed is because most of us are still polite and respectful. We are honoring the First Amendment, not crapping on it. Many of us would welcome civil dialogue with people of opposing view points!
