The constraint is no longer speed or capability. It is whether someone understands the problem deeply enough to make decisions that hold up once the system is in use.

This makes design judgment more visible, not less. When everything can be built quickly, unclear thinking shows up immediately as fragile products, confusing behavior, or systems that work in isolation but fail in reality.

As coding agents make execution faster, the center of gravity in software shifts. Writing code is no longer the hard part. Deciding what should exist, how a system should behave over time, and which trade-offs are acceptable becomes the work.
