I think it's very sad that so many drivers can't afford to have their indicators fixed.

Perhaps we should have a whip round so they're able to show people when they intend to turn.

My annual income (which is very variable across the year due to freelance work) has stayed roughly the same for the last 12 years. The cost of living has not done the same.

The emerging cases of AI psychosis have shown that all it takes to drive some people completely insane is to put them in contact with a sycophantic chatbot who always agrees with them.

Now, what does that tell us about billionaire CEOs surrounded by sycophantic people who always agree with them?

The least shocking thing ever is learning DOGE used chatGPT to identify which grants were “DEI.” It is critical to understand that LLMs are an authoritarian technology meant to win the millennia-long war on critical thinking and art. They are a right wing wet dream.

This is really quite significant for our case in Northern Ireland where we assert that the unfathomably poor For Women Scotland (and the way in which it has been interpreted hitherto in the UK) breaches the non-regression provisions in the Good Friday agreement.

We have written to Wes Streeting over the fact that his decision to pause the trial seems to have been based entirely on a letter whose author has now been recused due to bias.

It's quite incredible how it's somehow taboo to say the obvious truth about the UK, which is that it's a well integrated society where most people just get on with their lives no problem. Apart from a core of extremely insulated journalists and politicians who refuse to be integrated.

Like everything else in our timeline, our version of "callow young white boys blithely fuck everything up, never appreciate the damage they did, and face zero accountability" is just so f'ing ham-handed & over-the-top. Not believable. Terrible writing.

Map of Iran overlaid across Europe. It's effing huge. Germany, Austria, Poland, the balkkans, loads of Eastern Europe.

The problem with how we draw maps is that countries near the equator appear 'small'. Iran overlaid on Europe.

Imagine trying to dominate an area this size with just air power or contemplating putting troops in when it's spent forty years preparing to fight exactly the kind of war that results.

$7 million dollars spent on an anti-trans feature film that ended up just being an uncomfortable showcase of Jeremy Boreing’s sexual kinks and shitty ideas about womem

For anyone following my account for a while, my love for 404ink won't come as a suprise. In this "tell-all", 404 ink founders - Heather McDaid & Laura Jones-Rivera - discuss 404 ink's beginnings, walk through the publishing in's and out's, and up's and so many downs!
One often doesn't think about the background and the details of publishing, and just looks at the products. After reading this book, I'll think of the people behind it even more.
Also, how did I just found out this publisher was Scottish?!?! We love to see it.
Anyway, enough rambling. As sad as I feel about 404 ink's upcoming closure, this book brought certain closure by showing it is the best step forward.
Thank you to the Inklings series for making so many great gifts (mostly from me to myself) over the years

Very grateful for the wee reviews of Publisher Not Found coming in! I'm hoping those who read it will truly understand why it's ultimately a good thing 404 is closing, but indicative of a sad trend

Mid-C19th five-pound banknote including a coat of arms with dragons.

Since we appear to be arguing about whether there should be animals on banknotes, and if so which animals, I'm going to point out that this is the five-pound note issued by the Dundee Banking Company in 1845, and it had dragons on it.

⚠️ Today, Standards Commission hearing (Councillors Neil Ross & Marie-Clair Munro) found both had breached the Councillor code of conduct for failing to declare they lived by the Braid Estate when dealing w/ Greenbank to Meadows Quiet Route, including their votes to remove effective traffic filtering

It shouldn't fall to trans people to explain to cis people why creating laws that effectively amount to "If you have or ever had a penis, you must behave this way; If you have, or ever had a vagina, you must behave this other way" is horrifically dangerous for everyone's rights.

Hundreds of MPs just voted to abolish one of the fundamental pillars of democracy (the right to jury trial), but yeah, let's reheat "hypnotits" that's important.

When I said 'Kemi Badenoch is so partisan, under her the Tories would oppose puppies and kittens if Labour said something nice about them', I didn't mean it literally.

They can avoid having to do this every few years by installing bollards, otherwise the endless pavement parking will trash the place again.

News - No overdiagnosis of ADHD, say experts - University of Nottingham Experts are warning that far from being over diagnosed, people with ADHD are waiting too long for assessment, support and treatment.

Interesting to see that a review with 32 experts published in British Journal of Psychiatry last week found no evidence that ADHD is being overdiagnosed
