Is Jungle Cruise still down for refurb? That view definitely elevates things another notch.

Apropos of nothing, if you are a freelancer, maybe don’t become so annoying to an assigning editor that it doesn’t matter how good your writing is, you are now more trouble than you’re worth.
[movie judge voice] I’ll allow it, but watch yourself, Counselor.
Modern Republicanism is making up a thing to be scared about and then using that as the basis for policy
The Trump administration could really restore confidence by getting the entire Cabinet to ride a tanker through the Straits of Hormuz to show everyone how safe and easy it is now.
They could bring along a lot of MAGA influencers and Fox News hosts to broadcast it all live!
It’s not a Kate-tastrophe or anything.
Kate … Winslet?

If a supernatural component is required to make something “horror,” then you’ve orphaned a whole lot of classics. PARASITE might even fit. I’m still inclined to think OBAA wins, but not for genre prejudice reasons.
I dunno, “institutional snobbery” would seem to be the kind of thing to freeze out, say, EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, or PARASITE, or even ANORA. The last decade has been something of a “new normal” shift with membership changes.
I imagine that as soon as Rubio leaves his post, everyone in the administration will be racing to be the first to send the “he’s got some pretty big shoes to fill” email.
The 1976 Project continues with the big-budget spectacle of KING KONG, a version which for multiple reasons feels much closer to its 1933 incarnation than to even the 2005 version. www.patreon.com/posts/1976-p...
I saw that Mikey Madison was the first choice for the role played by Maika Monroe in REMINDERS OF HIM, and I would have liked to see that movie.
Also, a note to the producers of that movie that they could have moved on to options that *didn't* have the initials "MM."

Please please please let Tilly Norwood be in the Epstein files.
“MEMENTO for Dummies”
There is a better than even chance at this point that a bunch of administration insiders bought stocks, posted the picture, shorted the position, then deleted the picture.
I'm sure I'm not the first one to note it, but it only just really locked in for me that La. Sen. John Kennedy's voice is Pat Buttram (Sheriff of Nottingham from Disney's ROBIN HOOD). youtu.be/x95qdPTKzq8?...

It does!
Was poking around for Sundance reviews of UNDERTONE, and was surprised to see nobody mention a specific word that to me is pretty clearly its subtext. Then I finished my own write-up and realized I'd avoided the same word for possible-spoiler reasons. So we'll see if that conversation develops.

I have a vintage 2023 stew in my fridge and [chef kiss].
The “classroom notes” sketch was crafted *deliberately* to get Gosling and Padilla to break, the way Mulaney’s late additions to a Stefon “this place has everything” litany were designed to get Hader to break. That is a weird choice to me.
