Like. There are lots of good YA books. But there is often a fairly marked difference between the ways YA and adult fiction are written and constructed!!

YA books are doing a lot of really important + exciting stuff, but I wish so many SFF recs (especially on booktok) weren't YA... I want to read adult SFF not YA, it doesn't really tick boxes for me these days, and I feel like people act like they're interchangeable when imo they're not quite 😭
