Same here. I don't think everything needs to be preregistered. Openly posted code, though, I have yet to hear any reason for not 100% of the time.
It was awesome to see you!! I would love to read your students piece - please send! And let me know if yall end up doing more. Would love to stay connected on it!

Yayyyyy!!!! This is so exciting!
Don't worry, grasshopper. Even when people refer to you as "senior" you still have decades to go.. the road is long.
Seriously! Collaborating is probably my favorite part of the job!!
My experience was quite strict and indeed I did struggle with this, as someone who collaborates a lot. So I do think it’s good to be strategic about it early on. I had one paper with a coauthor in the middle of the list and couldn’t even use him.
So fascinating; thanks for documenting this!!
#IES and #NCES have announced that data for the 2020-22 Beginning Postsecondary Students Longitudinal Study (BPS:20/22) are available for analysis on DataLab, here: nces.ed.gov/datalab/inde...
I'm pleased to see these data available and want to share some observations, below: (1/X)
Some of the keeners keep a good eye on Stats offerings, but many of them don't think to and would nonetheless benefit a ton. Hope you get to teach it again soon.
You should send to psych next time you're teaching it!
A few people have asked for the syllabus from my grad seminar on Generative AI for social science -- just posted it here:

Thank you!!! Now that I have time to read outside CPS, I'm looking forward to a big AMPPS fest.
It's really an ideal audience for me to workshop some of my current ideas. Definitely eager for questions, comments, critiques, future-facing synergy! Grateful for the opportunity, for sure.

But @jdmiller.bsky.social and @drlynam.bsky.social definitely know how to get a conversation started, don't they? I remember early in my career asking the don what his advice was to folks wondering how to increase the impact of their work, and he said "write things that other people disagree with" 😂
Yes, I do think pieces in that vein would work within a broader conversation about research ethics. I also have my eye on this piece as perhaps a more updated foundation: journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....
Oooohhhh good one. It's pretty open in terms of specific topics. Also considering this, as a good jumping off point for broader ethical conversation around current reporting practices and guidelines: journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....
I will take a look at these!! Thanks!
If only we had good journals for this sort of thing, right @dsbarra.bsky.social @felixthoemmes.bsky.social
