Yeah, they need to make a baker that is separate tool basically vs the weird hijack they're trying to do with the shader nodes and baking to the last node clicked, just the worst.

God help you if you need to bake several textures over several materials.

Baking textures is Blender's single worst implemented feature BAR NONE. I have been harping about this for years. When the subject comes up I simply tell people to pay the $20 for SimpleBake, use XNormal, another tool, or just don't.
