It feels like there's been an uptick in serious training camp injuries so far this year. Is anyone tracking that?

We've lived in midcoast Maine for 25 years. Even as recently as 2010, summer dew points above 60F were fairly rare. Now, 70F+ is common. Ironically, despite the heat & humidity this summer, we've had only 2" of rain in the past 40 days, 65% of which fell in one hour on July 20th.

3/ Local ice-fishing on the river is a quaint memory, the fishery in the Gulf of Maine is changing rapidly, and taxes have gone up in spite of "less plowing" because expensive infrastructure is deteriorating more quickly.

2/ Our electricity bills are now much more than our heating bills ever were, and that's in a house at 160' elevation surrounded by old growth trees. Ticks are now a huge problem, as are previously "tame" invasive plant species, and my cultivated plants are increasingly unhappy with the weather.

1/ It's bad on the coast where most Mainers live. As recently as 2010, we laughed at "needing" AC. Now, we run it a couple days/wk from mid-May to mid-Sept (what once were our average last & first frost dates). That's as much for the humidity increase as temps (dew points of 70F+ are now common).

And every decade since 1979 being significantly warmer than the previous decade.

Further point. Yes, "Russia Hoax" may be diversionary (in the short term). But it much more significant than just taking the attention away. It is a concrete step towards real authoritarianism -- prosecuting politcal rivals, and turning the "security services" to personal service of the leader.
