The long silence is slowly coming to an end. The tide is turning alright as Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem introduced a new playable Pepé variant last year. We also saw Pepé referenced again on official #LooneyTunes social media, and now WB Kids is mentioning him again.

In reference, this was the previous thumbnail of Pepé Le Pew on their WB Kids YouTube page until just recently.

What can we take away from this? Well, it won't be long until someone at WB gives Pepé a reimagining that he deserves for today's times.

The WB Kids channel on YouTube has featured Pepé Le Pew on a video thumbnail for the first time in 6-7 years. While not the OG shorts, but one of the modernized takes of our favorite skunk.

After winning the Oscar in 1950 alongside the animated documentary, "So Much for So Little", Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese proved Eddie Selzer wrong after he once declared there was nothing funny about a skunk who spoke French.

Chuck continued to direct more Pepé Le Pew shorts until 1962.

Not only it was Chuck Jones’ first Academy Award-winning short, it is also the first short to feature Pepé Le Pew’s female co-star, Penelope Pussycat. And it does a role reversal to end the short with a big guffaw.

This cartoon was featured in "Joker: Folie à Deux".

“For Scent-imental Reasons” (1949), directed by Chuck Jones and written by Michael Maltese, was released on this day in 1949. This short was the first to fully establish Pepé Le Pew as a Warner Bros. cartoon superstar and it won the Oscar for Best Animated Short.

Love how we see brief Penelope's POV and pepe looks a bit more muscular and she likes what she sees.

Penelope's lost here stripe and is ratty and has a cold unable to smell now rendering peep odor ineffective and with his coat of paint looks very eye catching to her now.

I was meant to make gifs pepe but some how ended up just editing a clip from Touche and go... lets see how this goes
