I saw it well enough to see what it was but it is skulking

Whilst birding on Unst, news broke of an Eastern Bonelli's Warbler. The bird performed well to the small crowd present. #RareBirdsUK #UKBirding

Just returned from a much needed break to the Shetland Isles (my 14th visit) with @scottmayson.bsky.social and @wallcreeper1.bsky.social

For me, my birding highlight of the trip was watching my 3rd Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler down to 20ft with 7 other birders whilst on Unst.

This small grey looking Lesser Whitethroat was at Grutness this afternoon. Presumably blythi. #UKBirding #ShetlandBirding

Lovely flight views once again of the North American Blue-winged Teal with Eurasian Teal at Loch of Hillwell today. Still a very rare bird in these parts with around ten Shetland records.

A nice addition to the house list...

Headed to Unst first thing today and got amazing views of the PG Tips (much better than the photo suggest). News breaking of the Eastern Bonelli’s had had heading up for that where it showed really well.

Lovely views of the Marsh Sand at Musselburgh this morning. Next stop Shetland.
