In Mothership, you roll your 50/50 death save underneath a cup that you can’t look at until another player comes and takes their action to peek under your cup to “check your pulse”. So no one, not even you, know if you’re dead or not until the body is checked. It’s wild

lol, fair. The way that they suggest doing it in DH is less initiative, and more “action points”. Every player gets, say, 3 actions worth of downtime/social interaction, and once spent have to wait until everyone else has been able to take their actions or passed

DnD also has a similar problem with more experience/confident players basically running combat where the less experienced/confident players just feel like they have to go along with it. So while yes, DH has problems, they aren’t unique to DH imo.

There is an optional initiative system in DH and it says it can be used in social/non-combat settings as well. You can also technically use the DnD initiative system out of combat too

While true, that’s also a potential issue in DnD. And it does have optional rules for how to handle that if ore a problem

While there are significantly fewer total rules than in 5e, each rule feels so much more…interesting. Having 5 class features at max level instead of 20+ means that each feature feels unique and flavorful. But, some people simply won’t like DH’s narrative focused gameplay/combat

Yep, it’s out. I have a copy. I really enjoy it, and it’s really good, IF you like narrative based systems. The physical edition with the printed cards is really nice
