The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

Seriously, I shut it off for a few weeks then went back on and immediately felt this weird heaviness. Over stating it a little, but almost felt like some sort of defensive trauma response lol.

My whole country has been on fire 3.5 months now. Few weeks in, someone posted this Blade Runner ass scene from Calgary.

Week later, 253,000 flights in a single day. Utterly surreal.

I'd curated a reliable feed of climate Twitter over at the bad place, but I'm def missing that sort of specificity here (Tho I just found the Greensky feed, which is where I found this post lol)

I never really understood the comparisons to Donovan personally, but he’s an artist I can listen to all day.

Heya friend! I quite like it here so far. It’s different, and not nearly as “in depth” on topics as the bad place (at least so far for me), but so much more positivity.

You don’t really realize how much the toxic sludge of twitter drags you down until you’re free of it for awhile haha.

Oh that is SUCH a good feature. It’s something I’ve tried so hard to adopt back on the bad place, even learning about screen readers in hopes it would help me remember, but my old internet brain just fails me 4 times out of 5 when it comes to alt text.

It’s funny, up until 5 years ago I’d have agreed with my whole chest. I’m still figuring out where I fit today.

To the rest, I say no. These are supposedly the good guys.

In my experience, I’m not so sure patriotism and intelligence are the same side of the coin.

“Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious” and such.

When I hear patriot, I think “freedom” and I’m bloody well sick of that word.
