Senators, that's your cue
Is not tomorrow, boy, the ides of March?
It's very generous to assume any of these chuckleheads reads books.
Honestly, anybody shocked by this has not been paying attention. The force feeding of AI to the world is a way to train the models to achieve their goals.
The French are fond of talking about "tes oignons".

It's no accident that the commercial determinants of our food supply are also tied up in weapons design to maim and kill at scale. (Gift link)

There are only two people here who I have set up post notifications for: @duchessgoldblatt.bsky.social and @ryankenacts.bsky.social. Basically because everything they do gives me life. I now realized they always post the same day within minutes of each other. Are they the same person?!
With a little nosh when needed
This is a great movement. Please sign up and commit if you use these tools. An AI future is not inevitable.
I do wonder if I'm the only person left in my field who has never used these tools....π¬

A whole lot of Venezuelan oil engineers have known this for a long time. But nobody asks the people involved about any of this.
Fully agree. It is just one big machine and very impersonal, for the editors as well.
The systems are set up so that the only way to formally invite someone for review is to register them first.
I'm thinking a lot may depend on where a person learned or speaks English π
One thing Venezuelans have learned the hard way over the last decades is that no one gives a single sh*t about us. We've learned never to hope.
We hear the same thing in Europe and we're being squeezed. Funding has become so thin with so many people competing. There's no way to take in more if it is not seriously increased.
It's going to suggest ways to add whipped cream.

"This promise of an AI future, is really just a collective anxiety that wealthy people have about how well they're gonna be able to control us in the future."
- @tressiemcphd.bsky.social with an absolute mic drop moment about AI bullshit.
Incredible words.
Listen to all of it!
I made cake for the joy. We must all sacrifice for the cause.
