Dakota laid curled on the couch, Aileen protectively wrapped in her arms.

Oh- she hadn't cared for her own sake. She cared for her dog. Of course she had.

They had run into eachother before, when Dakota was twenty. That was over a decade ago now, though. She didn't remember it.

The touch caused her to flinch, breaths quickening as she worked through possibilities. Coffee- hotel? Coffee shop? Restaurant?

And Aileen... No Aileen meant no pets- but that didn't narrow options down.

Tears brimming.

"I... Don't remember."

She looked around again. Aileen? Where was Aileen?

Did she leave her home?

Hands reached into her purse- looking for a lead that wasn't there. She was starting to panic, now.

Dakota had been pulled away, brought back to a memory she hadn't recalled. The transition was (+)

"Neither," she replied, leaning back slightly and taking a look around.

Where was she?

Why couldn't she remember?

"I... Zoned out."

Unwise, perhaps- but prideful, no. Truth of that matter was that she just didn't care.

Slowly, that clouded look faded away, her gaze properly observing the man for a moment, before flushing in embarrassment.

"I'm so sorry, I zoned--

Dakota wasn't aware of what those were. Not that she was inexperienced- just... Nowhere near the rabbit hole, shockingly.

The former tanker slowly blinked, an embarrassed blush coating her cheeks as she realized what had happened.

She doesn't consider many things dangerous. She's seen her fair share of it.
