Agreed - the government needs to take the braver path, and speak up in favour of DRIPA. For meaningful reconciliation efforts to continue, there should be no repeal, nor amendments, to DRIPA.
Withdrawing the appeal on the Cowichan Tribes decision, and taking accountability for, and apologizing for, your alarmist response to it would be a great place to start.
