When I’m the dictator of America, there will be a warning label on books written in first person present. I won’t stop anyone from doing it; there are situations where it works and I’m not going to stifle art, but people should know before they wait for a book on hold at the library for months.

It was great for a while, but we got new people next door and their dogs do not shut up. It makes me batty, but there’s nothing I can do, which is also frustrating!

I’m all for it!

6-7 is dead, but there’s a new craze sweeping the nation’s youth. According to my 8 year old everyone is now doing ….*drumroll*…. the Macarena!

The thing about living in a walkable neighborhood is that people have the audacity to actually walk in it, which means dog are yapping their heads off constantly and if you get stressed out by noise, it’s terrible.

I know a lot of cake content creators use fake cakes, and I could do that just to have fun decorating I suppose, except I also want people to eat the cake and tell me it’s the best cake they’ve ever had.

I want to make a cake, but I don’t want to make the cake. I just want it made so I can decorate it. I’m very uninterested in the cake part of making cakes.

I can only assume they think historical research is just reading books other people have written and making a mashup of them?

I’m sorry, I can’t stop laughing at a history project having a budget for 1,000 people to do anything, much less write code. And I’m also screaming because no one who suggests this would be great for history has ever done any amount of historical research ever!

Yeah, we have the occasional conflicts where we have to be in two places at once and it’s so stressful; I can’t imagine managing another kid’s schedule!

The kids are very much not over scheduled; each kid does one activity at a time. And it still takes a lot of time and planning and laundry and water bottle filling.

Having a week where only one kid has sports feels like a vacation!

The thing about baseball is that I love it with a pure, deep love and it recognizes something in my soul and it‘s a source of meaning in my life in a way that nothing else could ever be, and I hate everything about it.

Yep, time for my annual going-through-it-about-the-reality-of-baseball. Sigh.

I love the idea of them, but I prefer to remain attached to my fingers!

Every time I see a video of someone using one I have to scream. I’d lose a finger so fast.

People out there using a mandoline with bare hands when I can’t even be trusted with a cheese grater.

I was very anti-cell phone for a long time too! Then realized everyone was communicating without me 😂

I’m sure there’s been studies done on how the advent of cell phones changed the way we all communicated, and not making specific plans ahead of time has to be a major change!

It makes me so uncomfortable every time, and these characters are able to just live their lives after that?

If someone told me “Stop by tomorrow night” and then wouldn’t give me a time, I wouldn’t know what to do. I’d be simultaneously frozen and freaking out. And I’d just vacillate between those too things and would not stop by at any time tomorrow night.

It’s really stressed me out when characters on tv or in books make plans to meet at a later time BUT THEY DON’T SPECIFY WHAT TIME! I know it would be boring to watch/read about characters hashing out details like that, but it is SO STRESSFUL to have them not do that!

The last few days I’ve been playing the piano a lot and I’ve decided to fully embrace my chaotic playing style. Making bad art for personal good. It’s been nice.

So, I don’t if this report is accurate, but that idea is accurate, and I’m trying to stay out of any political commentary but I fail sometimes because learning about this in particular really changed how I saw everything and I think it’s important to understand.

My point is mostly that I think a lot of us really underestimate the influence of Christian extremists, and have for a long time.

I distinctly remember first running across this reading Power, Faith, and Fantasy by Michael Oren, a history of US involvement in the Middle East. That history makes so much more sense when you view it through this lens. They may be explicit about it now, but this has always been a driving force.

It only makes sense for the whole West Coast to join in!
