Up early to hopefully make some progress whilst the house is quiet + kids don't need me.
I want to be building, but the Gov. (HMRC) need their report and I've neglected the accounts 😱. So this morning I will mostly be... finding and sorting out receipts! [1/2]

A vegetable garden plan built in vegplotter's garden planning software, showing the new simple tagging system at the top circled in pink.

The garden plan shows 16 raised beds arranged in a 2x8 grid pattern. All of the beds have plants planned in them with some beds having covering with netting or polytunnel. At the base of the plan is a patioed area with a greenhouse, four water baths, a shed and three seed beds, one of which is arranged in a square foot grid pattern.

Constructive feedback is so useful! Vegplotter's layering system was confusing: "Why can't I edit beds?".
They suggested a simple active layer tag (Structures, Beds, or Plants) at the top to make it clear
Positive is nice, but negative feedback is the most valuable! #BuildInPublic #B2CSaaS #xp

Bucket containing manure/compost surrounded by seedlings with a watering can pouring water into it

Gardening hack for poor soil! 🌱 Bury a perforated bucket filled with manure/compost (perforations under the soil). Plant seedlings around it & water into the bucket. Nutrients delivered directly to the roots for thriving plants! #GardeningTips #Permaculture #OrganicGardening #SoilHealth

I'd really appreciate any views on if the frost dates provided seem accurate for your locations.

Screen shot of the frostdates.com site. It shows the frost dates for Exeter in the united Kingdom as predicted by the site. There are also various timelines and charts that show the various frost risk levels (air frost, light ground frost and hard ground frost) as well as a chart that shows the average minimum and maximum temperatures through out the year.

I built another thing! frostdates.com . It provides likely frost dates for you location (it works internationally). Enter your location and the tool will predict when you might need to protect your crops or when you can start planting in spring. It'll tell you your USDA growing zone too. [1/2]

Thanks, that good to know. Yep and still get random snow or chunky hail at random times. Or the year where we had no frost at all! The plague of slugs and snails that spring and summer destroyed all crops.

Climate change research says the planet is warming. The UK's Met Office report agrees, but shows it’s also getting wetter and sunnier in the UKβ€”which should be extending UK's veg season! Do you track temps and frost dates? Have you adjusted your planting schedules? #gardening #climatechange

Do you use the willow for anything? I have one at the back of my garden. I did use the stems for climbing peas once, but otherwise I've left it be.
