This new movie cramming in material from so many other games just makes me question: Why was Galaxy 1 just not enough on its own for a movie? And why hinder your ability to make more Mario movies in the future? How can they DO a Mario World or Mario Sunshine or Mario Bros. 2 movie in the future now?

I've said a lot about the first Mario movie but I do think that it actually pulled together a lot of disparate elements pretty effectively, with the Mario Bros. Arcade + Donkey Kong + DKC + Mario Kart + Super Mario Bros. vibes all merged together. Not perfect, but it made sense for what it utilized.

I guess without seeing the movie first, it's unfair to act like they can't pull this all together, it's not like most Mario plots are THAT different, but my question then is: Why

Like, why TRY to pull this all together, when you could have just... Not, and told a more conceptually cohesive story
