Spectacular Captains Courageous at @videoarchivesclub this afternoon - what a beautiful movie. Double billed with Night Must Fall, (also 1937) which I’d never seen. Cinema Club was as wonderful as I’d hoped, even got to talk to the awesome Matt Landsman who i’d heard on the podcast. So excellent.

Aw you’re so kind! I labored over every frame of that movie for 3 1/2 years, if I told you the production challenges that we faced you’d never believe it. But it was important for me to have Dave in the movie. He’s such an important figure. Love him. He’s a real inspiration.
A quick Stevie adjacent story… 😎 I’m in an all girl group called Stella and back in 2011 we made a record in NYC that was co-produced by Dave Marsh. We recorded in Brooklyn at ValveTone Studios with Larry Eagle sitting in on percussion- same studio and drummer as Springsteen’s Seeger sessions.
This book is on the kitchen table right now… so we are clearly on the same wavelength Jen! Did we just become best friends ?! 😁

Starting off 2025 by watching Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple for the millionth time. An inspiring doc for a music maker and the history lesson hits me right in my nerdy pleasure center.
