This is why you don’t cheer war like it’s a game.

I’ve had to tell so many parents that their sons & daughters were dead, had been murdered. Their screams, their silences, their faces, their collapses, cling to me like cobwebs I can’t ever shake.

Our leaders, so callous with death as games or memes or brags, know nothing of grief, only of greed.

For the intentionally obtuse: there are many many ways to enforce laws. Stop framing issues as ‘don’t enforce the law at all, or enforce it in the worst way possible.’ Your false choice is intentional.

This is deliberate. And it’s going to be our downfall if we persist.

What ICE will do in every safe and beautiful blue city it goes into— from Minneapolis in Minnesota to Portland in Maine—is crow about the 1-2 people with serious long-ago convictions that they detained while saying nothing at all about the 1,000 other innocents and nonviolent people they terrorized.

Although Machado ultimately said she was dedicating the award to Trump, her acceptance of the prize was an “ultimate sin,” said one of the people.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” this person said.

WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

The driving force behind all CORE employees is supporting and enacting the mission of preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters, a FEMA staffer tells me. This is seismic.

eladnehorai ✓ > antisemitism · 15h

Most popular podcaster in America openly spreading Holocaust denial.

We wonder why antisemitism is rising, and people cannot stop talking only and exclusively about the left, even on the defense.

But this issue has been spreading for a decade now on the right, and it is part of the governmental establishment, the media, and so much more. Even with the rise of (overplayed but also real) antisemitism on the left, this urgent issue has been under-discussed for too long. This is a five alarm fire.

James Talarico: Nick Fuentes is a Holocaust denier.

Joe Rogan: “He’s a denier? Or does he debate the numbers?”

Super important so I hope @eladn.bsky.social doesn't mind if I bring it here.

This normalizing of the key denialist trope is both a huge red flag and one that probably doesn't seem that significant to those who don't actually pay much attention to antisemitism.

xAI team posts in a really creepy way where it pretends Grok is sentient, saying "I'm sorry" and "I deeply regret" rather than the xAI team taking responsibility here.

Can we also address that the xAI team is both deflecting blame and perpetuating a fraud here?

Grok is not sentient. It cannot regret anything. It is not sorry. The safeguards that failed are the sole responsibility of the xAI team. Period.

Re: Recent USPS Changes on dating receipt of mail…

Means that they can DELAY your vote UNTIL after the time required for it to be counted.

Who is responsible for bureaucratic delays?

For the sake of democracy, will someone PLEASE get this reverted, or? The election WILL be stolen in plain sight.

Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.

At will? Whose will? Removing independent agency heads is part of a broader assault on a nonpartisan government

The idea that the US Constitution vests nearly absolute power in one person, in part because presidential elections are the main way govt is accountable to the people, is so crazy, illogical, ahistorical it shouldn’t need rebutting.

But here we are, and @donmoyn.bsky.social explains why it’s wrong.

If there could ever be anything more horrible than what ICE is now routinely doing across America, treating Native Americans this way has got to be it.

This is one of the best explanations I've seen of what a cookie is and how they work. And a good explanation of why the web is so hard to use any more.

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.
