Tbh, I'm also not a big fan of how Death Note portrays humanity in general. It feels very cynical. I know a lot of people do think humans are like that, but personally, I don't think so.

Both L and Near spend the whole show just making a somewhat reasonable guess and betting everything on it despite there being multiple other possibilities. Especially early on, when L doesn't even know about the Death Note.

Like, "Yagami threatened to kill the suspect and commit suicide, so the suspect must have been his son" is a reasonable guess, but definitely not enough to be completely sure. The suspect could have been a close friend. That would be enough to trigger that kind of reaction.

I'm rewatching Death Note and it's so funny how the characters just keep making all the right guesses out of nowhere. Like, their train of thought makes no sense most of the time.

Man, today's exam really kicked my ass. Like, I'm sure I did great, but there wasn't a single second I wasn't struggling. And we barely had enough time. I finished with only two minutes to spare and I know most of my classmates weren't able to finish.
