within me
blooms a romance
I once scoffed at

a renewed respect
for romance I once-
up until several yrs ago-
had little room within myself
for it to occupy.

Artwork of a woman with black hair in a bright yellow dress holding flowers. Leafless tree in the background.

Spring's Promise, Marjorie Miller (circa 1925).

You as well, and thank you ❤️. When I am on there, I tend to story post like crazy 😂, so it’s good when I take pauses from there 🤭

When I get back on there, soon; I’ve been away for a week 🫶

the world
has the blood
of innocents
on its land.

ohh the innocence, all that innocence

lost…killed …wiped out…unalived.

along with the tears,
and the knowledge,
of the ancients

blood and tears
across its broad land
of a billion plus beings.

Same here, and it’s been Very handy; my favorite way. I do have a 2010 MacBook Pro that I’ve not used in ages. It needs updating and the keyboard is spaced too far apart for me to enjoy typing freely.

she was a poet
among other things

where do the poems
go when the poet
has been killed?

I picture the snow
in Minnesota

falling on a lake

and want to write
her name—
Renee—
on its cold
white page

Mystic flight

Past reflection ancient curse
Spoil land with poison mirth
Sallow industry strips the land
Natures grace is lost on Man.

Take the $ to the bank
Made of earths last hallowed crank
Willows weep by empty pits
While lamps of Gold are Oil lit.

Thank you, I won’t rush it but that would be sublime. We never know how much time any of us has, so I probably shouldn’t take forever 😩😂. Btw, are you on IG? I’m on it periodically (since 2017)- I sometimes post portraits along with some prose/poetry.

Indeed. And I didn’t own a typewriter nor a word processor; I didn’t love having to write extensively, typing or tapping suits me more. Maturity with age also adds more insight and a certain weight to the words.
If my word knowledge was more expansive, it might also lend itself to broader poetry.

Looks splendid.
Thank you for sharing this to me; I might eventually want to get it, either from a library or a bookstore altho I think ‘owning’ it would give me much more time with it.

I might have otherwise cultivated it more, earlier on 😎. Then again I’m a late bloomer, so it’s alright.

Perhaps. Simply no telling for sure; it’s a process I don’t force. Began my first piece around ‘89/‘90. With yrs - in between- of no writing. Mostly because I didn’t make time for it, also didn’t want to accumulate the materials I had no way of keeping safe; moved around a lot back then.

Fascinating. Have you counted the poems in this book of hers? Read them all, yet? What’s the name of this poetry book?
I have no poetry books in my possession, as of yet. And I’ve lost track of my own prose; my best pieces probably total no more than several hundred at most, so far-since 2017.

Do you write poetry? Your photos are beautiful, some with a gothic flair and broodiness. What would those dark hidden desires be, dare I ask? Knowing they’ll likely not be divulged or revealed, surely not here.

😂😶😂…their works are also good altho I’m guilty of not yet having read enough of theirs either. I’ve been wanting to see what flows forth from my own well, with minimal influence by the prose of others.

Still haven’t read many of her pieces; do you know how many poems of hers has been shared with the public, how many she may have written?

Didn’t know until I watched the fabulous series; Dickinson, that I’d also admire her poetry (herself as well). I wasn’t a reader of poetry nor do I write prolifically, aside from the periodic prose or poem; I found it came to me easily enough, I felt a need and a release, catharsis of sorts.

Love the thoughts of Emily Dickinson.
