... Will as the main character is fine but he doesn't really have much of an arc. He "dreams big" to play for his favorite team and then he does. As soon as he gets the chance he proves how great he is and he never needs to improve all that much. He ends up a little flat.
Still a great watch!

Some thoughts:
The movie was really fun. The characters have good chemistry, the environments look great and the world feels full of life and charm. Modo was a highlight in every scene he was in of course.
I do think that the story rushes a lot in the second half and stays very basic. Also...(1/2)
