Traditional birthday selfie is late because I slept in due to the major storm last night. P.S. I don't feel guilty hawking my books today--there are seven to choose from!

The resource system in PROSPER WITH DRAGONS will wreck you—in the best way. 🐉🔥
Red Leaf → Blue Gear → Black Flame.
Higher rewards = bigger disasters.
Push your luck or play it safe? Either way… the dragons are watching.

I've been listening to an audiobook about airships (zeppelins, dirigibles, or blimps, depending on locale), and how they NEVER really worked, but governments had invested so much in them that they were determined to MAKE them work, wasting fortunes & years & lives
This post is not about airships
Oh wow, looks like Ms. Tamara Walcott just broke her own 641-pound record. So look, though we have never met, Ms. Walcott is one of my very few life inspirations: here she is, rocking thee f**k out of a 650-pound deadlift.
The bar bends—She does not; Black Women Do Not.
Tomorrow in San Antonio! We’ll be there doing panels and signing books at the Central Library Pop Con! Free admission!
Y'all, get ready for shenanigans and confusion in November, because voter suppression is coming hard for middle-class white folks. I'm Williamson County, I left to vote at 2pm and didn't get home till 7:15pm. This county is more diverse than when I moved here 20 years ago, but still very white. 1/9
This month, we're aiming to get 100 preorders for the 2nd printing of Prosper with Dragons, the cooperative Afrofutures card game...with dragons! 🐉
If you want to add a little heat 🔥 to your game nights, preorder your copy today: sistahscifi.com/products/pre...
If you can sign up in your district to be a poll worker, do. It’s more important than ever. You can help protect someone’s right to vote.
And no VFX; they were really in the fire. When I say you felt this scene, here’s another reason why. Thank you Autumn Durald Arkapaw!

(To be clear, this is absolutely for EVERYONE who plans to vote in November. It's not about what's happening in Texas, but what can happen to you.)
Voting anywhere! They just tested it out on us.
Don't worry, we were all dehydrated! Small miracles 🙃
Yes, it was Williamson county specifically, but I'm thinking it was just a test bed for a wider rollout.
This is definitely for anyone in the US who votes! We were just a testing ground.
So y'all, please don't play around in November and think voting will be business as usual. Vote early if you can. Vote early if you can. (Yes, I'm saying it twice.) Check your voting location days before. Bring water and snacks and an umbrella and something to read.

Finally, at 6:58 pm, I cast my vote! My biggest worry was of them running out of stickers, becuz I for sure woulda crashed out. I put it on my bedroom light switch to remind me every day of how precarious our voting rights are.
Polls closed at 7pm. The line was still 4 hours deep when I left. 8/9
We waited, made friends in line. Talked about Matthew McConaughey's book. It was nice out! The line grew even longer once people got off work. There were 6 precincts assigned to this location.
Meanwhile, the Republican line...there was no Republican line. They could walk right in, no wait. 7/9
The line for Democrats was looong. It was sunny. Not long after I got there, ambulances came to tend to someone, maybe heat stroke. A news crew came, I'm somewhere in the background with my blue baby shark umbrella.
Thankfully, someone passed out water. Poll workers put out chairs and tents. 6/9
I went home and regrouped, confirmed that the polling location was both Republican AND Democrat, even though there wasn't a Democrat sign. I went back at 4:10pm. I brought an umbrella and hoped I'd be done in 2 hours.
The poll workers were REALLY nice and made sure we were in the right place! 5/9
The parking lot was packed and one way, so it took 15 minutes just to turn around. There was a giant red sign that said Republican Voting! I thought I was in the wrong place again. The line looked long and it was hot out.
I didn't have that long to wait, so I left and got P.Terry's. 4/9
I should have checked. My bad. I was even at the location for a community event last week, saw the polls, and thought I'd vote there like usual. I forgot we are living in unusual times.
So I found the correct location, in the opposite direction, but I still had an hour. I thought I was fine. 3/9
