Difficult to overstate how much blood RFK and Trump will have on their hands in the coming years.

Difficult to overstate how many innocent kids will die as a result of the people who cast votes for Trump last November.

Effects of 1-year exercise in patients with atrial fibrillation: study protocol for the Norwegian Exercise in Atrial Fibrillation (NEXAF) randomised controlled trial Introduction Atrial fibrillation is the most prevalent sustained arrhythmia worldwide and is expected to increase substantially within the coming years. Although lifestyle changes and risk factor modi...

300 implanted ILRs and well into the one-year follow-up for the last included participants.

Will one year of exercise impact arrhythmia burden in AF patients?

So happy to share our protocol paper for the NEXAF Trial: openheart.bmj.com/content/12/1... #cardiosky

Since coming back from @nmerke.bsky.socialโ€˜s great 3D-Workshop Iโ€˜ve been thinking about MR quantification - volumetric, VC, PISA - and why I havenโ€™t been so enthusiastic about it lately. A threadโ€ฆ

IVR has constant volume, but shape change. All parts of the ventricle relax, but the apex relaxes most, and hence is most Energy demanding, the shortening of the base is not wasted work. The reconfiguration generates apical flow, giving momentum to the subsequent early filling

Could it be because LA volume is ambiguous as increased volume is related to both โฌ†๏ธ fitness and chronically elevated filling pressures? In the first setting the LV is large with good long axis function, and normal sized w/depressed long axis function in the latter

Left Atrial Appendage Closure after Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation | NEJM Oral anticoagulation is recommended after ablation for atrial fibrillation among patients at high risk for stroke. Left atrial appendage closure is a mechanical alternative to anticoagulation, but ...

Very interesting study comparing standard anticoagulation to Watchman atrial closure after atrial fibrillation ablation, should garner lots of discussion! Lower bleeding rates, no difference in stroke risk. #cardiosky #medsky #AHA24 www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....
