07.08.2025 21:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think the problem in 2018 was students who voted with *no* information. They showed up to the polling place, saw a parks proposal and voted yes. Such a voter would also be inclined to vote for a library based on the ballot language, which (I think) said nothing about voting against a park.
07.08.2025 21:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I still think itβs a stretch, but I appreciate your explanation.
07.08.2025 21:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβd say βparks vs. librariesβ cancel each other out, and all other things being equal, voters tend to vote βyes.β

07.08.2025 18:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It was, after all, an August vote that flipped #A2Council majority to their side in 2018.

07.08.2025 16:51 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0NO voters complain that an August election favored the YES vote, and that a November vote would have resulted in a different outcome. I believe that #A2Council actually helped the NO side, and that a November vote would have resulted in an even bigger margin of victory for the proposals. Thoughts?

07.08.2025 01:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0While we agree that the suit lacked merit, one can never be certain until the votes are counted. Had the vote been close, they might have proceeded with the argument that enough voters were misled by the ballot wording to sway the election.
