Pretty sure the woman, Donna Babcock, is the same person who goes by Donna Marie Adams on Ranzini’s FB group. FWIW

Either. I was intentionally ambiguous.

I also think that we learned our lesson in 2018, and we now have a much better ground game than they have.

Fine, but I still maintain that all my shitposts are stale and derivative.

I think the problem in 2018 was students who voted with *no* information. They showed up to the polling place, saw a parks proposal and voted yes. Such a voter would also be inclined to vote for a library based on the ballot language, which (I think) said nothing about voting against a park.

I still think it’s a stretch, but I appreciate your explanation.

I’d say β€œparks vs. libraries” cancel each other out, and all other things being equal, voters tend to vote β€œyes.”

They’d still complain if it were held in November β€˜26, or even β€˜28. As with β€œPause the Plan,” their goal is not merely to pause, but rather to prevent it from ever happening.

It was, after all, an August vote that flipped #A2Council majority to their side in 2018.

NO voters complain that an August election favored the YES vote, and that a November vote would have resulted in a different outcome. I believe that #A2Council actually helped the NO side, and that a November vote would have resulted in an even bigger margin of victory for the proposals. Thoughts?

While we agree that the suit lacked merit, one can never be certain until the votes are counted. Had the vote been close, they might have proceeded with the argument that enough voters were misled by the ballot wording to sway the election.

IANAL, but I suspect that their attorney advised the plaintiffs that no judge would invalidate such a clear will of the voters.

This is hilarious. Other than making staff members’ jobs a little easier, exactly what would boycotting a public library accomplish?
