Whenever the warrior was hurt, he grabbed her out of his pocket so that she could heal him. For some reason, she always seemed to blush when he held her in his hands.
The human had offered several times to help the elf regain her former size, but she seemed to enjoy traveling with him in his pocket.

Finally being noticed (and subsequently picked up) after several near-death experiences following her shrinking, the cleric ended up being very clingy with her "savior." That, combined with her miniature size, made her basically a glorified healing item, stored in the warrior's pocket for safety.

The adventurous human warrior unable to use any magic acquires his first party member, a cute elf cleric who agrees to be the "party healer."
The warrior found her in a tavern, struggling to survive after being mysteriously cursed to be 2 inches tall. She was rather eager to join.
