This seems (as a generalization) scummy. Like you said, if something about the project changes that's one thing. But to just be like "we'll pay you X" and then try to talk you down after? Red flag.
I've heard it said that "a bad impression is a great unique character voice." And I really needed to hear that.

I usually find that the confidence part comes after you start talking about the things you like. When you see that other people are also into those things it gets a lot easier to keep opening up.

I've been meaning to do this one and I have done Imagination: Audiobooks and Long-form Narration as well as a course on character voices. Right now, the day job won't let me do anything for the next few months, so all classes are kinda on hold for me.

It’s normally a pretty lonely existence being a voice artist, so great when you get to collaborate with creatives, even if it’s virtually.
