Nice read and especially good discussion on the clever use of a 1st level spell.

But looking at the amount of adventure with *just* 25 hexes- 5x5!

Also, the pressure of needing money creating a low-level basic need of the party

Hands, moving as if by their own volition, select “columns have headers”— I weep uncontrollably as the cells arrange themselves with ease now.

The disgust I feel when I realize that maybe keying a dungeon via Excel tables might help with reviewing things like treasure amount and monster variety

I can see a world where someone fully trains an LLM to write a new RPG based on my CC-BY-SA text, then spits out the result with a closed license.

This is already possible of course (mechanics can't be copyrighted) but it still is very anti-social behavior.

Big fan of play reports because they help others understand one way of making D&D "go", demonstrate where the energy is located in certain modules or adventure styles, or (in the case of old-school D&D) how quirky facets are navigated.

Great post from a great blogger.

If I could add one thing, it would be to *read* more blogs as well. I have been in a bit of a reading slump for a while, and getting out of it, it is amazing how much it inspires me to write. If nothing else, because I see something I disagree with and must respond
