Very nice downtime tables for all magical school games.

02.10.2025 13:14 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A nice list, Iโve done something like this at con games to great effect by saying you have X relationship with the PC to the left of you.
Iโve even included weird ones like โYou inexplicably look exactly like the PC to your left but are not a doppelgรคnger, twin, or siblingโ & got triplets that way
If I were to do a discord for trans fems who like old (pre-wotc) versions of D&D and like Big Dungeons in particular, would anyone be interested in that

Some crafting is best done only by NPCs because itโs low-overhead and itโs a reason PCs shouldnโt piss off the town
But here is my stab at cooking/crafting: icastlight.blogspot.com/2024/07/deli...
So sorry KC! Please let us help if we can and if you need anything.

Good questions, Iโll have to update the post with โem
Otherwise, I am not arguing that megadungeons are superior to citycrawls or pointcrawls but they are not archaic nor *inferior* to those modes (or other campaign structures) and provide advantages.
29.09.2025 15:39 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The fruit void here is both "physical" as in exploiting the building structure & contents and "social" the various factions needs/wants/secrets/poximites. All while being much easier on DM prep & PC keeping track of things because of repeated exposure to similar elements
29.09.2025 15:36 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0E.G. 1st floor of Versailles is smaller than a city, but reasonable to contain 2-4 factions, yet, you'd lose detail if you reduced these 30 rooms to a point crawl of its 6 or 7 major areas (denoted by the major headings). The detail provides a fruitful void for player actions/unexpected outcomes
29.09.2025 15:36 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Many of my thoughts are in the post, but in brief: *For a weekly 2-4 hour D&D session*, megadungeons are more focused & require less prep than city crawls while retaining muti-factions, but are also more detailed & choice-laden than pointcrawls
29.09.2025 15:36 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So instead of a farm boy destined by birth for great things as guilded by a wise mentor, I want to be the dude in the back of the hive of scum & villainy figuring out a score after witnessing a shooting & a dude getting his arm cut off by a zealot- do those thing involve me? Only if I want them too
29.09.2025 14:11 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The type of story I like is similar to life, itโs an emergent one that arises out a series of events informed by PCsโ choices that align/conflict with other groups all in a cool place; the only true grand goal or โarcโ is that set by the PCs- Megadungeons provide this
