These things happen. Was just trying to show that jerks also exist on here. 😂

For those who don’t think hockey has a future in ATL,
just look at this top-shelf snipe from the Metro ATL Street Hockey league. Puttin’ it where the peanut butter sticks… the roof of the net. ;)

If Shesterkin thinks he deserves $12.5M/year to give up 3 goals on 14 shots to the Canucks, how much does Jonathan Quick (4-0 with back-to-back shutouts) deserve?

Completely agree. Which is why he fought so long for PHX. ATL’s best hope is that Bettman retires and Bill Daly takes his job. Daly has spoken well of the ATL market. Time will tell.
As an aside… don’t tell me Hockey can’t survive in a “non-traditional” hockey market when the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs is an American kid from Phoenix.
Where they’re talking about putting a new NHL arena (north ATL suburbs) there are several arenas and thriving youth and adult leagues. Plenty of hockey-loving transplants here, too. (I’ve played beer league with former Leaf Scott Pearson and many other Canadians and former NCAA players).
Trust me. I know. I was in the building almost every night. Owners did absolutely nothing to build those teams. Do you keep buying more shares of a failing company that is being mismanaged? Why are sports fans held to a different standard? (Rhetorical question)
Very true. But, believe it or not, it has been almost 14 years since they left (2011).
Yep. Gotta build a consistent winner… and quickly. New expansion draft rules favor new teams. …See Vegas and Seattle. Much different than when the Thrashers got their choice of AHL castoffs and plumbers in the expansion draft.
Bettman propped up PHX for years. He hated the ATL owners (rightfully so) and approved a sale as soon as a viable option became available. It wasn’t due to poor fan support.
I don’t believe there’s enough population and biz to support a modern NHL franchise in Qbc City. In comparison, the amount of corporate support and population in ATL is off the charts. Waaaay more than there was in 2011. PHX died because of its bungled arena situation.
Wow. I’ve got more time
to save for my season tix than I had expected.
Staying awake for the #NYR west coast swing gets harder and harder every year. #NHL #LGR
Put the arena in the correct area of the city (not downtown) and have owners that actually care about hockey (not just the NBA) and it will def succeed. Fan support for hockey isn’t the issue in ATL.
I saw that. They’re sponsoring the ATL Quebec Pee Wee team, which is awesome. But… never overlook a sleeping giant.
Cumming, Ga. for the win!
Ahead of Toronto? Is there a proposal for a second team in Toronto? That city that hasn’t won a Cup since Bill Barilko…
So, who can give me an update on the status of the NHL’s imminent return to ATL? @craigcustance.bsky.social waddayaknow?

It’s Nov. 18. Just stop it. Let turkey have its day.
