A recent model suggests the #Parkinsons risk factor protein TMEM175 is primarily a proton-conducting channel. Riederer et al. @upenn.edu demonstrate that TMEM175 does not mediate a lysosomal proton leak and is not responsible for preventing lysosomal over-acidification. rupress.org/jcb/article/...

I thought this book made some good points on why we need to, how difficult this may be, but how we might in the end, contain upcoming #AI technologies. However, I disliked the constant parallels with #biotech. It seems common among successful people in #AI to underestimate how hard biology is.
