Requiem for a team It was the best of times. Then, in the blink of your blood-oranged eye, it was the worst. Again.

Alright. I wrote this about all this. #LTFC

This is true. What makes me thing we are a poor team is that we don’t ever develop. It’s like being stuck in pre season. I see a few promising players, but not a promising team. And 30 games I still couldn’t tell you what the Managers style of play is. It’s never settled.

The more I watch us this season, unfortunately the more I come to the conclusion we are just a poor team. I don’t disagree on the character. I think we are just not good enough.

I agree on Naismith as a stay at home LB if we went to a four. To me that’s the way ahead. Personally at moment I’d also go Yates with Wells and Alli behind. Our strength is through the middle, not out wide Even Alli wants to cut back inside). So play narrow.

Bloomfield is a 4-2-3-1 man. That’s his system. He needs to be brave . It reeks of trying to accommodate Naismith and to play a system to fit Doughty and. Jones. One was going to leave and the other we might not see this side of Christmas. We are left with confused manager and a perplexed Squad.

I’d agree. I was expecting the open attacking play from WW, and understood last season the grind. Will wait and see this time around. I’d say we need a maverick.

Completely agree. And telling when MOM and bright spots were defence when at home against a newly promoted team. Found the patterns of play very similar to last season, which is worrying. Is this Bloomfield’s style?

I think back to when we were last promoted from League One. And that went down to the 44th game. Collins scored 25, Lee 12, Hylton 8 and so on. Cornick and Lua Lua were the back up strikers. We shinnie, Stacey and Justin with assists. That’s the type of firepower we may need to win the league.

27.07.2025 07:48 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Which feels as though it was like that the whole of last season too. Only 45 league goals tells a story. I’m not sure who makes the goals this season, let alone who will score them.

Think tank would imply sentience, but we really do need to replace Morris / cover Adabayo’s injury.

Positive pre season so far for @lutontown.co.uk Keep feeling the new signings are actually ones that we should have made 12 months ago. Feel if we add a forward and some midfield creativity ( might be same player) we will challenge.

Was privileged to read (and cry quite a bit at) an earlier version of this, so lovely to get the finished article. Obviously buzzing to feature in that midfield. A beautiful thing, cheers @davidmarkcain.bsky.social
